im not a complete n00b done numerous jtag and rgh's

There are no alternate points.

Xenon JTAG is possibly the easiest of all consoles. If you suspect that you've damaged any of these points, you should just give it to someone else to do.

I've ALWAYS used 2x switching diodes from J1F1 to J2D2 points and a 100 ohm resistor from J2D2.4-J2D2.7 and i've NEVER had any problems with doing a Jtag this way.Take off those 3x resistors and replace them with 2x switching diodes and i reckon that should cure your error problem BUT double check all your points wit a multimeter to make sure your getting good constant readouts first

Check J2D2.1 and J2D2.2 - they should be reading at 1.5k with no power connected.
How are you getting power from them if there is no power connected?

Can we see a pic of where you messed up the points?
