Jtag with zeroed dvd key

So a friend of mine has a console that the dvd drive stopped working on. I was checking it out for him, and noticed it could be jtagged.

I jtagged it and it turns out the dvd key is all zeroes. I assume this is a failed update, or more likely corruption of some sort.

There are no bad blocks, and it had a old mod on the drive 1.5 I think

Has anybody run into this before? Should I import a KV?
How would I do that?

Just open in 360 Flash Dump Tool with the CPU key and choose patch. You can then add the DVD key in there. Flash the created NAND back to your console.
