Understanding this is a TX support forum and I'm not seeing anything here related to TX.

Please come back when you have a product we can support.
Isnt this posted in the Jtag support fourm. I thought this Forum was for general JTAG questions/Answers. Considering that in this forum there are guides for installing freestyle dash, bigger HDDs and all sorts of other JTAG related stuff that has nothing to do with team xecuter products. Just a thought. it isnt that i dont get where you are coming from, as i have been on these forums for a while and I have seen my fair share of N00bs on this site, who wont read other peoples posts and/or ignore them completely and cant figure out why it they cant get it to work.

For the OP this sounds like a nand image problem.

Yes, but it's on a TX product support forum. Either he's reading/writing with an LPT cable (which we don't support for obvious reasons) or he's using a 3rd party SPI read/writer. It doesn't matter which - neither are supported here.

I might be way off base, so the sooner the OP posts according to the help templates, the better.

I'm using a jr programmer to dump and write the nand, but unfortunately I don't have it where I am atm.
Will this be valid for support or do I need a jtag qsb for support?

In all honesty, one of two things is most likely wrong if you are telling the truth about it freezing in dash.

1. Your JTAG wiring is bad.
2. Your xbox GPU needs a reflow

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.

I'd go with this being s problem with your GPU. You likely have RROD symptoms but without the RROD. Here's a test. Pull off power to fans and let system overheat until.it goes to 2 red lights. Then reconnect fans and try again. It should boot....then go with a proper RROD fix.

I was just thinking the same thing.

If a console has got a genuine RROD error, the most "permanent" fix is a reball of the CPU and/or GPU, but doing things like overheating them will make things even worse.

Is it safe to assume that you (lesta_smsc) haven't actually done a proper RROD fix before?

probably by the same logic as "repairing" xboxes and PS3s bu drowning them in flux and heating them to not more than 150 degre celcius in the oven? also a realy stupid idea that is floating around.

Well to be fair this was merely to test if it.resolves issue. Naturally if it does then it's unlikely to be soldering and point towards a GPU +/- CPU. You might also get RROD next time which give some clues as to what is wrong

I have never attempted a proper reflow but had a friend do it via bga/infra red. Once I identified fault.

To be fair, it would be idiotic to try this.

We already know the console is RROD based on the POST. We know what is wrong. Why in the world would you risk breaking something further with a stupid process?

Strange as gpu and cpu can handle temps greater than that which causes system to RROD... I've not heard of anyone who has a dead or further damaged xbox via this method. Anyways the decision is up to the individual. Ive had success just by this and then editing smc to avoid raising temps too fsr and xboxs that were RROD still working and going strong for over 3 years!

We all know what is the BEST option but this is.an option if user wants to avoid extra costs.

These days it's cheaper to buy another xbox than to pay for reflow lol

It's not about thermal stress. Setting off an overheat error doesn't reset the console. That's a bit like saying you got BSoD on your PC and the way to reset is to turn the CPU fan off.
