JTAG jtaggable? What diodes?

So this is my first attempt of jtagging an xbox console..
Dashboard: 7371
2BL(CB): 1903
4BL(CD): 1888
5BL(CE): 1888

So I've looked at some tutorials/guides and noticed that I actually can jtag this one. But I just want to make sure, so I need someone to confirm that it is exploitable! :)

Also, I've seen that you need diodes soldered with the wires, and my question to that is "what diodes do I need? what values do they need?"

Thanks in advance!

You need 1N4148 Switching Diodes. As for it being Jtaggable there are two criteria's:
1. Dashboard 7371 or older. (which it is)
2. MFR date is before June 18 2009 (consoles with 7371 after this date have the patched CB)

Jtagging is pretty straight forward so you shouldn't have any problem with it so long as you follow a good detailed tutorial.

If you have the funds, get a NAND-X.

It ships with everything you need for a JTAG install (don't get the standalone edition because this doesn't come with what you need).

in some instances the diodes dont work you will need to use 3, 330ohm resistors.
Use this method if you get constant E79 errors (Xecuter made a kit (Xenon E79 Kit) for this).

Thank you everyone! Yes, I do have a nand-x and I've successfully read the nand :)

I'll buy these diodes and try it out!

btw. MFR is April 2006, so I think it is okay ;)

Thank's again!!!

should I be able to read the nand with nand x with out diodes?

should I be able to read the nand with nand x without diodes? I have a xenon and my board that mounts on J2D2 broke so I was going to go purchase some diodes from radioshack tomorrow. I get the "When I try to read the NAND it says that it can not continue"

Thanks in advance.

The JTAG portion of the installation has nothing to do with reading the NAND.

If you are getting errors, it's either a soldering issue, a driver issue or your NAND-X is at fault (unlikely).

I suggest you post some images of your install.

This is my first JTAG attempt via nandx, I have done one succesfully a few years ago via old method. I tried to take a bunch of photos with my phone. They all look terrible as far as photo quality. Will try to get something better. Anyway, nandx showing red and yellow LEDs, jrunner sees it. Im a well trained electronic technician by trade for 30+ years so solder is only a slight chance. I reflowed it again with flux. No go. Ive tried it on another windows 7 PC, still no go. The USB cable im using is not original. Ive also tried another on this also. Thanks again.
