Ok so I bought a RROD 360 off my friend for £10 and repaired it by reflowing and the xclamp fix. My kernal is lower than 7371 so i believe i need to update it to 7371 to load freeboot. I've purchased the NAND-X and I'm going to have a go at soldering it in tomorrow although my soldering skills are not amazing but I have not forgotten the all important flux. If all goes well with the soldering I am going to be flashing the NAND with the JTAG tool v2.20 which will load the newest dashboard update (12611) which seems pretty easy and I understand how it all works as I've downloaded it already, just to have a look at the interface and I've also had a look at some tutorials. Also I should have my console plugged in and powered off (except from powering on with the eject button to load Xell and get my CPU key).
Well thats how I believe it should be done but I would find it extreamly helpful if anybody could point out anything I've missed or give me any good tips.
Oh, forgot to add, on the jtag board that came with the NAND-x there is a little switch on it, which position should the switch be in?
Thanks
