Hi all, 1st post here and it's for a problem! Right, what's happening is that Jungleflasher can't detect any xbox 360 drives on the SATA ports but it will report the hard drive being there! I've searched many places and have come up with no answer apart from trying to remove any devices from the SATA ports apart from the 360 drive. Well, this is impossible for me as I have a motherboard that only has SATA, no IDE so it seems i'm stuck unless there's another way to solve the problem.
My setup is a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3, 6Gb RAM and a HD4870 1Gb and i'm running windows 7 x64. I've tried installing Win 7 x86 on another partition to see if this is the problem but I still get exactly the same result. when I 1st turn on my system the BIOS reports seeing the 360's drive, the portio64.sys driver is signed and i've even tried the F8 trick to no avail.
So, does anyone here have the same motherboard as me and has solved the problem or is there something i'm missing somewhere? Any help would be appreciated as i'm slowly losing my hair after countless nights of pulling it out so if any of the members on here can help me i'd very much appreciate it as it'll save me going bald to young lol!
I don't usually ask for help with anything as I can normally work things out for myself but this time i've gotta admit defeat cos i've tried pretty much everything and the next logical step I can see to take is to either try and find a live CD of windows and try and use Jungleflasher that way by putting the Live CD onto USB or i've gotta buy a PCI SATA card which I don't really want to do cos the equipment I have here should be more than capable of doing whatever I want it to!
Thanks in advance for any answers and guidance you give.

How on earth is jungleflasher seeing your 360 hard drive? You say that your equipment is more than capable to complete this task and you don't want to by the right tools.
But your equipment isn't doing the job you think it should.
Which bit isn't making sense here??
What xecuter products do you have??

What I meant is that my setup should be more than capable of flashing any phat 360. I don't use any special tools apart from a pogo mo thoin for Lite ons and the 79 unlock disk. Apart from that I make any tools that I may need if I can. The 360's drive is always powered by the 360 itself with the A/V cable connected up.
Basically I do what I do every time I have flashed drives in the past, connsect the drive up to a SATA port, power up the 360, run Jungleflasher and follow the Jungleflasher guide. I'm experiencing this problem with both a Hitachi 79 and a Sammy ms25 and Jungleflasher won't detect any 360 drive on the SATA ports but when clicking through all the ports my hitachi hard drive shows up. There's nothing different in what i'm doing apart from I upgraded my system completely about 1 1/2 months ago but I don't see why a 360 drive can't be detected in Jungleflasher with my current system.
I don't really want to spend out on extra tools like the X360USB pro because i've never needed it in the past and i've managed quite well without any of these extra tools, especially if I can make what I need for a lot less. Obviously, if it was something I couldn't make any other way cheaper or easier then I would buy the necessary tool/s for the job but considering it's only either a Hitachi 79 or Sammy ms25 i'm trying to flash at the moment I don't really need any extra tools, or at least I shouldn't need to!
The only thing I can think being a problem is when I open up device manager there are no SATA ports as such. there is an area called 'IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers' and listed in there are 2X ATA channel 0, 2X ATA channel 1 amd 2X standard dual channel PCI IDE controller. Nowhere in my device manager is there listed any SATA ports even though i've installed all the upto date drivers from the Gigabyte website.
As I said in my OP, if I can't find a way of resolving this problem then i'll have to go out and buy a PCI SATA card just for the purposes of flashing 360 drives even though the motherboard cost me £90 and should be more than capable of seeing a 360 drive on the SATA ports.
I've tried all 6 ports with different SATA cables too and that hasn't given me any different results.
Sorry for any confusion in my OP, I hope that with that and this post it might help someone to see what my problem is and offer a way to resolve it.

How am I not using the right tools for the job? Yes I may not have any xecuter products but do I really need them? I've never needed them before and the only time I would buy any xecuter products is when I get asked to mod a slim!
I've been flashing drives for approx 3-4 years and have never brought any kind of product as i've always made my own and have never needed to buy anything. I don't see what product i'd need to buy anyway considering i'm trying to flash either a Hitachi or Sammy drive but still, the problem is still there, my SATA ports can't detect ANY kind of 360 drive! As I stated before, i've done many drives in the past and have only needed a SATA port, Jungleflasher and occasionally the 79 unlock CD and just recently the pogo mo thoin. What more do I need?
Sorry for sounding off but i've already stated what tools I have and use regularly and don't need to be told that the reason i'm having problems is because I don't have the right tools! I've managed for the past 3-4 years with home built tools and have flashed every phat drive made with those tools so don't see why I should pay out for something I don't need as to me that would be a waste of money when the tools I make are capable of doing pretty much exactly the same thing.
The problem I have is i've completely upgraded my system but don't see why that should cause the problems i'm having trying to get any kind of drive detected in Jungleflasher apart from my hard drive which is strange in itself cos if it can detect that then why can't it detect anything else?

Well, as you said you have been doing this job for 3-4 years now, and no problem you're getting even without using tx products, so I can't see any reason why you can't pass over your problem now. If it's your upgraded PC giving your problem gogle it. I am very positive you can sort it out.

I really don't wanna be spending out however much the X360USB is even if it would avoid these kind of problems in the end, especially when i'll more than likely hardly ever use it so it's be a waste of money to me which would be better off spent elsewhere. So far i've never been asked to flash a slim, why I don't know but I haven't! I have done another search on google and found that it may be the standard windows drivers that are giving the problems and i'm following a guide now to update the ATA/AHCI drivers manaully. Hopefully that will resolve my issue although I don't see why i've never had this problem before!
Anyway, i'm still open to any help people may offer, especially if they've had the same problem or have the same motherboard as me and have sorted their problem. I will update if the guide i'm following now works out.
