I am not too sure if this is the correct place to post for my issue but I apologise in advance if it is not.

I am trying to get LTU software onto my Lite-ON 1532 drive but every time I try to write firmware it just hangs and never actually sends anything. I have been researching quite a lot into it and have tried pretty much everything I can think of.

I have already got the CPU/DVD Keys along with all the other files needed to create the firmware files. I am using LTU-1532.bin as the firmware for my drive and I have already spoofed the keys. In every guide I have read, it says I need the 0800 DVD which I have burned on layer 0 of a Dual Layer disk. I guess the real issue is that when I use my CK3 mini to start the drive, it does not eject or even spin up (with the replacement PCB). I then of course tried putting the DVD in by using the eject paperclip method which worked but again it does not read the disk no matter what I try.

I have tried using a different SATA cable and have even traced back and tried the stock PCB. The stock PCB works perfectly and ejects normally but the replacement PCB does not. I then thought this could be an issue with the actual PCB but at the same time, the drive DOES go into vendor mode so I ruled this one out. I have tried clicking outro and repeating the process to write firmware.

Equipment (from legit stores):
CK3 Mini
Replacement PCB (LTU2PCB XECUTER)
X360USBPro v1 (flashed firmware .20)

Please advise.

How are you powering the CK3 Mini?
Molex power from PC at the moment. I have tried the USB cable it provides too but that does not have enough power to operate my drive.

Have used the CK3 to also flash my other Xbox (Phat) so I ruled that out as an issue.

The green light on the CK3 does turn on and it does eject when the stock PCB is in. Just no response when the replacement is in - could be because there is no firmware on the replacement? But then how do you get the 0800 disk in and start flashing if it doesn't have firmware.

Ltu2 pcbs do not use the 0800 discs. Read the ltu2 tutorial, not ltu1.

Make sure your WP switch is set to 1 and your SPI is 0x00.

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.

The WP switch is set to 1 and it displays as 0x00.

I have just tried this tutorial: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php/138374-Liteon-DG-16D5S-LTU2-Guide

It helps me get to vendor mode a little quicker but I am having the same problem. It just does not write the firmware.

I have also checked the wiring for the new PCB if anyone suggests that - I did a continuity test between the motor and other contact points and the PCB it self.

Like jsinger47 asked, is it a LTU1 or LTU2? If LTU2, you are using the wrong firmware. Update your JF to 1.95 and make sure you have firmware files for LTU2. Follow LTU2 guide. IF LTU2 board, make sure it is UNLOCK and use vendor button when instructed.

I was using the wrong firmware.

It was so helpful when every thread I read just said I can find it at the "usual places". /sarcasm

I know exactly why that information is given but I would of thought it would be much easier to find.
How is it not easy to find there is reference to said program numerous places and you can get said program from google then you will have the only database for All the program's software and firmware you will ever need

No, the firmware I was looking for came out a few weeks ago as far as I know. It was not in the normal places i look for my Phat Xbox.

If you do not know where to look for it, maybe you should not be trying to do it?
Hmm, sort of defeats the purpose of this forum then? Firmware for noobs?

Anyway, it is all sorted now.
