I'm about to flash my Xecuter 2.6 CE and I want to make sure I don't hose my chip by flashing a bad BIOS. I'm flashing the chip for a v1.1 Xbox so FlashBIOS v3.0.3 should work if I am not mistaken. Here is what I'm doing in the X2 BIOS Manager to create the 1MB image, should this work right?

So I'm flashing FlashBIOS v3.0.3 to Bank 1, and the latest (5035) X2 BIOS to Bank 2, is this correct or will I kill my chip by doing this?

By the way, I'm following this tutorial for the BIOS creating. But from what I'm reading here it seems like I can just flash Bank 2 without creating a 1 MB image for both banks. I would rather do that (flash one bank), is that possible?

Tip #1... FlashBIOS (I'm assuming this is a new install and FlashBIOS is all that is currently on your chip) always starts writing from the beginning of bank 1. If you only flash a 512KB file it will only overwrite bank 1. Anything above that will cross into bank 2. It does not matter which bank you boot from or which bank you have selected... writing from FlashBIOS *always* starts on bank 1.

What you are planning shouldn't kill your chip, in fact I think it should work just fine. But you are doing more work than you need to. A fresh 2.6 chip has FlashBIOS 3.01 on bank 1 (1 & 2) and 3.03 on bank 2 (3 & 4). If you boot FlashBIOS and flash only the 5035 BIOS you will wipe 3.01 on bank 1, replacing with X2CL 5035 but you will still have 3.03 on bank 2. I recommend an HTTP flash if possible.
