Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced Mad Max, a new open world, third person action game set in a post apocalyptic wasteland. The best news? It's developed by Avalanche Studios, the dudes behind the stunt-filled Just Cause series. Scheduled for release in 2014, Mad Max "will deliver dynamic, open-world gameplay where gamers fight to stay alive" The trailer shows Max mercy-killing a wastelander with his revved-up banger in order to conserve precious ammo. "Staying alive isn't easy" in the wasteland and players will "clash with deadly factions and gangs through scores of dangerous side missions and quests in the dynamic open-world."
The key to Mad Max is its "intense vehicular combat." As well as battling on foot, players can "design, customise and upgrade their ultimate combat vehicle" with "mounted weapons, armour and engines"
Mad Max will release on Xbox One in 2014.
