just changed to larger hard drive on my rgh but avatars wont install

hello.
just put a bigger hd in my rgh 360, and have installed the backwards compatability patch and xex etc .
but im unable to install the update to get my avatars back
tried from usb and dvd and rebooting with them plugged in but nothing happens
any ideas

not sure what you mean?
i downloaded the dashboard update listed in system info.
unrared the file and copied the systemupdate file to the root of a usb stick and on a dvd but nothing happens when pluged in or rebooted?

if you got dach launch instaled, do as frazzeld says, and rename the $sytemupdate folder to $$ystemupdate..
or set "noupdater = false" in launch.ini

if not then check if the usb drive is NTFS cause it should be FAT32

He means, rename $SystemUpdate to $$ystemUpdate.

just tried renaming the file and the usb is fat32 but still not working any other things i could try??

Post a screenshot of the contents of your USB stick.

Had the exact same problem yesterday, for the love of god i could not remember to add the extra $ sighn. Just made me laugh reading this knowing i was in the same boat. Glad you got sorted mate.
