Hi all,

I have just done the install for the X3 in my XBox and have gone through the test procedure. One thing I'm unsure about though, hope someone can clarify:

When I press the eject and power buttons at the same time to boot from the 256k backup (from power off), I get the led switch going purple like its supposed to, but then right away it goes blue (primary bios) and shows the X3 blue bios screen. If I'm in the X3 bios screen and I press eject/power, the light changes to purple but the system doesn't reboot. Is this the way it's supposed to work??

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your reply.

I did manage to flash xecuter 1959 to my bios using the on, on, off, off, off dip switch setting (and after reading the x3 guide). I see there is a setting in the X3 menu now under bios utilities that allows me to backup to the 256k bios. Firstly I burned Flashbios 3.0.1 to a CDRW disk. When I access this menu setting and ask it to backup to 256k bios from disk, all I get are 2 thin white horizontal bars in the centre of the screen.

I am trying to make sure the backup bios is functioning properly and seeing what bios loads when it's enabled (as the purple light comes on only momentarily when enabled). Proving a little trickier than I thought. Surely this would not be an install problem if I can't burn to the backup bios, right?

Cheers.

I think it sounds right, mine does something similar with the backup bios

for clarity sake, I get:

Quick press of power button: X3 logo = blue, xbox boots to avalaunch/X3CL (chip enabled)

Long press of power button: X3 logo = red, xbox boots to m$ dash (chip disabled)

Power and eject pressed together: X3 logo turns purple for a few secs then changed to blue, xbox boots to Flashbios (backup bios).

Not sure if the logo is meant to stay purple or not, mine never has but it all works fine as it is so I'm happy. :D

New 360 Arcade, with Lighton Drive

Hello,

Just picked up a new 360 arcade. I have a 360 elite which is on the network and live.

What can I do with this 360 arcade. build date is 2009-08-30. Is it pretty simple to mod it? I have not opened it up yet. Should I hook it up update all the files then mod it?

All I want to use this one is for playing backup games....

thanks

Re: New 360 Arcade, with Lighton Drive

connect to live and do the dash updates, then do the LT Firmware mod.
