Hi all.

First off im sorry if this has been posted before, im on my dinner at work and only have 15 mins left.

Right i received my xbox this morning (ordered from mr mod chips) and all works great. I was just wondering what software / bios is pre-installed and what software I have to install myself.

Hope theres no rule breaking in this post (permission to slap me if there is)

Oh, team X must have deleted the sticky saying 'what software/bios do mr modchips pre-install when you send them your xbox'

[/sarcasm]

how about turning the xbox on and see what is there and downloading any other bios's/apps you want after reading stickys and faq's on how to do this.

whos a funny boy?

doesn't the fact that i put 'all works great' in the post indicate to you that ive turned the xbox on. jesus...!

I was after a helpful answer, not some smart ass little waist of space kid with some 'im a complete f**kwit' post.

No need for your "help" now, found the info I want from another helpful forum member.

The end

Can we assume this is an X3 Premod? Dumb question - since this is an X3 forum, but all types of questions get asked ...

Anyway:
1. READ the tutorials. Especially the BIOS Flashing ones. I'm going to take a guess and say that the premod came with the Flashbios install and thats it.
2. Gather the software and tools you will need -
a. Log onto the "usual places" and download a copy of the latest bios (1957).
b. Make sure you can either hook the box to a router, or via a crossover cable to a PC.
c. You'll want a decent FTP client - FlashXP, CuteFTP, SecureFTP.
d. If you are new, you might want to consider the SlayerEvox2.6 Install - to do that you will need the download "seed" from the "usual places", and a BitTorrent client.
3. Have you read the Tutorials yet?
4. Have you got all the software together yet?
5. Network the Xbox. OK, you can burn a CDRW or a DVD, but this is the easiest and least frustrating (until you get a brand of CDRW that plays nicely with your DVD drive in the Xbox). Need help networking - come back and ask ... common mistakes - having same IP addresses on PC and Xbox, suggest IP on Xbox - 192.168.0.10, IP on PC - 192.168.0.11, netmask on both 255.255.255.0, DNS - leave blank, gateway - leave blank.
6. Follow the Flashbios directions on the Xbox. HTTP works well.

You SHOULD now at least have the new Bios up and running.

Next question - do yo have an upgraded HDD?

Try not contradicting yourself, you said it all worked fine and then asked what is installed,

secondly, you said 'I was just wondering what software / bios is pre-installed and what software I have to install myself. '

how is anyone else supposed to know what software you should install 'cause you didn't say what you want to use your xbox for, i could have said go install xbmc and you would have replied, 'what the f**k for, kid (ha ha)' i only want to play copied games and watch dvd's without using the remote.

Try knowing what you want to do before asking how to do it !!
