If you don't know whether you are spoofing a drive or not, then you are NOT. If you were spoofing a drive, you would know! The
Jungle Flasher Tutorial has a section that goes over spoofing drives, the section you are reading is going through flashing your drive with the latest firmware (no spoofing). This part of the PMT tutorial is taken from the Jungle Flasher tutorial.
I would suggest you go through the Jungle Flasher tutorial for erasing and writing to your LiteOn drive. It will look like this:
This is very easy to understand, you just click on the link and it will tell you how to properly remove the drivers for you VIA card so you can successfully flash your drive.
EDIT: Also, regarding the title of your topic, "Warning!", it is not descriptive at all. You should change it to something like "How to flash LiteOn with VIA card" or "Help, warning when flashing LiteOn with VIA card".
