how can i flash to a new dvd drive i have tried manual spoof and putting in there

can i make a key.bin just from knowing the key

When you click manual spoof, just type in the key or paste it in to the box. Don't click the "Load key.bin" button.

Read the JF manual - it should be in there.

This isn't exactly rocket science. Open your desired target firmware, click Manual spoof. Paste your DVD key and click 'check'. then click OK. Flash the firmware to your drive.

It worries me how many people can't follow the simplest of instructions and need to be spoonfed every step of the way.....

You could try using a free hex editor like XVI32:

Create a new file. Then click Edit->Insert String. Click the Hex button and type in your DVD key. Click "ok", File-> Save As "key.bin". Then use that file for the manual spoof. Should work

But as Martin said, pasting it in to JF should work fine.

oh and am using a tx pcb if it makes any diff

tried pasting in the manual spoof
tried making key.bin
tried to spoof as a d2s with key
tried to paste in manual spoof and then save file just reverts to fffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

tried to use as diff dummy same fw/diff fw
and spoof it i have tried everything

do you not have a dummy.bin for this drive?

If not, it may not be enough to inject the DVD key. Either way, you can still try.

Click on Open TARGET firmware.
Choose your stock / LT firmware.
Click MANUAL SPOOFING
In the DVD key box, paste your DVD key
Click 'CHECK'
Click 'OK'.

Your target firmware should now have your DVD key.

a few of us have had this problem with 0225 drives from slims, the manual spoofing DOES NOT WORK. hopefully a fix comes up soon for this.

I believe the method worked on 9504 drives but not on 0225 & as the 0401 came after the 0225 i'd say it cannot be done.....maybe if you changed the osig to a 9504/0272

just read that tut seems straight forward. I would give that ago hope it works out for you

I don't believe you can lizfix anything but 9504 or 0272. It due to extra encryption on 0225 or 0401 etc. It may be possible someday but not now. For now just use rgh.

i used that for a 9504.but i never have had any joy with 0225 as you said.
