if its not possible to change due to extra encryption i wonder if it would be possible to change the dvd key on the actual console to match the drive i know it wouldnt be live safe but it would be a way to get the drive to work

I would suggest trying the writekey function in Jf. As manual spoofing doesn't work. No guarantee that it will though

Yep, you can't edit it at all which is why you always have the dummy.bin!!

There may be ways to sort it using a decrypted file system from another slim, but it's more work obviously.

you could try a diff pcb board ive had probs in past with sammys not spoofing key to them
