Just want to make sure this is right...

Ok, so I just install my Xecuter 2.6CE into a 1.6 using the solderless adapter. Installation is all good (all appropriate LED's illuminate) so now Im ready to flash the chip for the first time. SO I just want to make sure I understand the process.

Basically Im going to make a FlashBIos v3.0.1 boot disk using this tutorial:

after that boot disc is made I use it until the point in which FlashBios asks me to insert a CD containing the bios file that I want to flash onto the chip, in my case Im going to use the: x2-5035_v16plus-512k bios

So after that process starts and assuming all my switch setting are correct I should end up having the 5035 bios flashed onto my chip and should ne all set to install software using Slayers or AID or whatever.

So is my thought process correct? Is this all that Ill need to do or am I missing a step somewhare?

Hmm, I think something went wrong. Everything went according to the FlashBios tutorial but when I restart the box the flubber animation comes up (says nothing about Xecuter) then I see a scrambled screen that looks as though it says something about an error -13 - maybe, I cant tell, and also something about definition but again not all the letters are visible. I tried swapping the stock A/V cables for a HD A/V but the result was the same.

I think Ill try loading Slayers or A.I.D and see if it will let me.


Any help is appreciated.

Oh yeah, I forgot that it is now also fraggin after the "error scrambled screen" appears.

Well installing A.I.D 3.0.3 seems to have done the trick. ONly issue now is that M/B and CPU temp read 74 deg C :eek: But ive heard that sometimes happens on v1.6 xboxs but im off to do some reading on the subject ;)

THanks for the reply. I installed UnleashX. I bumped up my fan to 60% and temp are around 140 right now so I think Im good. I appreciate the help though.
