GENERAL Kamikaze hacks

Hello,

Today I did 2 kamikaze hacks, both of the failed. When drilling it didnt get the 0x00 status. I drilled quite deep, and it was really strange because normally I would have get the 0x00 status a long time before.

So now both of them aren't ejecting, so I need to do the eject tray fix, but my question is why I didn't get the 0x00, when i did a intro they were unlocked, but also not ejecting.

I didn't use the 3,3v wire.

I did probarly 20-40 kamikaze hacks and besides 1 they all went great.

Anyone knows how this is possible? Is something wrong with jungleflasher? or?

Im sure its not jungleflasher.. maybe you were off just a bit?

Were they both Winbond SPI's?

What did you use to mark the point?

I have messed up few winbonds also by drilling a little bit wrong place or too deep because I was lazy and used a template. That template went to trash!

If your drive still reads discs then you can do the eject fix but if it doesn't read you need to replace the chip or pcb. I don't think JF was the problem.

They were both winbonds.
I checked position using pins, so it should be about right.

Apart from the fact you kept drilling even when you couldn't get it to unlock....

It's not a JF error or anything else. Unfortunately it's one of those things. It's not called the Kamikaze hack for no reason.

Dont try this at home kids, other note: ive done over 10 Kamikazie hacks and all with template and im 10 wins 0 losses.
