Hello,

I have the Lite-on DG-16D4S, with firmware 0272 (after dashboard update). I was able to retrieve the DVD key using my onboard Intel ICH8 S-ATA controller and the XBOX as power supply.
I then opened the DVD drive and used the Kamikaze hack until I got a 0x00.
Looks fine until now.

I tried to read the firmware for saving, but it tells me it has the wrong status.
When I trie it over again, it still tells me status 0x00 and exactly the numbers as in the Jungleflasher tutorial, but again, when reading the firmware, wrong status.

This is al there is in the logfile, after trying it from start again:

Serial flash found with Status 0x72

Sending Device ID request to port 0xCC00
Spi Status: 0x00
Manufacturer ID: 0xEF
Device ID: 0x11
Flash Name: Winbond/NEX(W25P20/NX25P20)
Flash Size: 262144 bytes

Getting Status from port 0xCC00
Invalid Status 0x0

I attached another logfile, where you can see a a status 0x1.

I thought that, although it says 0x00, I drilled at the wrong place. Lukely, I did not trash the DVD drive, because it still can read original DVD's.

Can anyone point the next step, because what I am experiencing is not explained in the tutorial?
Can I retry and drill at the right spot?

Thanx.

Strange that you can not read the FW. For my opinion is better to buy the X360USB PRO and the CK3 to at least to read the DVD key. Without it you can not do nothing.

About the kamikaza if you are not sure in what are you doing is better to buy the pc from TX for your drive.

when it beeped did the 0x00 changed to 0x03? or did it just go straight to 0x00? if it went straight to 0x00 after the beep then it's most likely you drilled in the wrong spot or too deep. I had that happen a few times.

I dit not see 0x03.
I guess I can retry the drill on another spot.
Thanks.

And yes, I was able to retrieve the DVD key as mentioned.

Try to hit intro button. If jf logs says Spi Status: 0x8c something after hitting the Intro then its false unlock. You have to drill again. I got several false spi status:0x00 and beeping using jf1.90 and it always return to 0x8c after clicking the Intro button.

I used jf1.89 instead of jf1.90 since jf1.90 giving me false unlock.

Try to hit intro button after beep or 0x00 spi status change to change that it is not a FALSE unlock.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried 1.89 as well. Same result: 0x00.
Still no lock when trying to read the firmware.

I will retry the drill and post back the results.

Excuse me for my rudness, but if you have nothing to say, do not say anything.
I am asking about the Kamikaze hack. Buying stuff is not usefull information.

Thanx.
