i'm having major problems getting my x3 to flash

i've spent hours checking the installation, resoldering and looking for forum solutions to no avail. i currently have my x2 installed which works perfectly.
my question is, is it worthwhile continuing to try and get my x3 to work, or should i just keep my x2 in. i'm only really interested in bucking up games and storing my favourite games off of the hd.
is the x3 that much better than the x2 for me to persevere with it?
