I have researched installing firmware to my 360 drive to be able to play games burned to a dvd. I researced if my system could be detected by xbox live after I have modded my drive. I came to find out that you may get dected if you do not keep up to date on firmwares because when there are certain updates to the dash the firmware might become out of date to the new dashes. I geuss that means there are files in the firmwares which allows it to blend in with the current dash and when you have the older version firmware the files that help it to blend are no longer there which allows the mod to be detected. How often do new firmwares usually come out and when might the next firmware come out? How do I know when a new firmware comes out so I can manage to install it in a time frame where I can stay up to date with xbox's updates, can someone post a good solid site the stays up to date on firmwares so I will be able to heck when new firmwares come out, also note I do say a solid site meaning please make sure if you refer me to a site it is one that will definetly have the new version firmware for my drive when the firmware comes out or should I say when the fimrware is needed for the new xbox updates. I have a lite-on (74850C) DVD Drive with lt 3.0 installed.
