LITEON 74850 Key Extraction Failed...using 360 as power source...

So Im using a probe3 with the 360 as my power because this xbox will never go on live.

Im getting stuck at key extraction, after I probe and it says drive complete I power off the probe, remove it, then hit the power on the 360 and turn it off and on.

Then I get an extraction failed message.

Iv looked for a while now for a guide where the 360 itself is used as a source and have come up with nothing...Im starting to think maybe I should just take my box somewhere to get this done for me but I would really like to know how to do it myself.

You will never find a guide on here that shows you how to power your drive using your Xbox, as it is not reccomended fullstop..

if you are using the xbx as a power source what have you plugged the probe 3 into? did you plug the probe into the xbox and then the other end into the drive or what?

are you holding the button on the probe and only releasing it after you have made contact with mpx01?

yeah i removed the dvd drive, plug in one end of the probe to 360 where dvd drive was powered, then other end of probe into dvd drive. seems to work fine the probe lit up and everything.

when i probe mpx01 i hold the button and connect/probe it, wait for the message box on screen, press again to turn off then remove it.

i think im having the problem when i cycle power

rofl obviously i accepted that when i chose to work this way, that doesnt mean that there isnt a solution, and im sure there are people who have gotten it to work.

people still get problems when working it the normal way too eh?

heres a way to go about this for those who dont want to spend the money on a external power source who dont care for going on live that isnt documented and im just getting shot down....im sure there are others who would appreciate a solution like this??

anyways im going to keep working on it

hi u can do it with the power of the console if u want it work for me here i have translate a tuto from french to english but there is some word dont change to english sorry for that i wish to understand

Here's what to do if you use the power of the console

_Branchez The reader with your mount and connect the SATA cable from the console to it (Turn the switch S1 to ON to send the 3.3 v)
_Power ON Your console and wait for the lens, check whether this is a dvd
_Débranchez Sata cable from the console to connect the SATA cable from your PC (note that the power LED flashes on the console, it's normal)
_Ensuite Make sure your drive is detected as JF, click OK and then PhatKey
_MAKE The switch to OFF to cut the v 3.3, connect the needle or probe has MPX01 then turn the switch ON to send the 3.3 v
_If Everything is OK you get a window with "Extract Complete ..."
_Now Get ready because we will be quick
_Power OFF Console by long pressing the power button (wait until it is completely off)
_Rebranche Sata cable from the console to your player, turn on the console and wait for the lens, check whether this is a dvd
_Débranche Sata cable from the console to connect the SATA cable from your PC (note that the power LED flashes on the console, this is normal), then click OK
_Enregistrez The full dump of your drive

We must connect the SATA cable from the console the reader for the console starts normally and sends power to the drive properly, without it the reader is not well fed and at the end of the manipulation you "PhatKey Failed"
