key extraction question

Is there a way of reading the key from the motherboard... a friend bought a 360 with a samsung rom in that doesnt have a key... bought from second hand shop as faulty cheap... so can be experimental project...

nope...have to get it from the drive

you would have to get it from original drive then inject it into new drive

the drive has been bad flashed as far as i can gather... i can read the firmware but there has been no key injected into it.... i even used hex editor oround 4000 to see if there was a key.... but nope.... we dont have original firmware so have no access to any key... is there an eprom or something on the motherboard that can be removed and read in a programmer....

Nope, unfortunately your friend bought a completely worthless 360. Well the drive is ok assuming it still physically works, so that could be used elsewhere or resold, but barring a breakthrough in decrypting the 360 kernel that motherboard is useless.
