ANSWERED Kinect Update after RGH

I have an Xbox 360s that is RGH with a coolrunner. Everything works great with the exception of the Kinect update prompt i keep getting when i turn on my machine. Message says something like "Your kinect system requires an update, please go to www.xbox.com/support". Ive searched around and people keep saying that i will need to get the proper update for my kernal and run the update.

Question i have is. I remembered installing the RGH when my system was on 13599. I installed Dashlaunch 2.29 and now when im on the original dashboard, it shows 14699. So is it ok for me to run the install of 14699 to update my kinect, or do i have to find the 13599 update and run that particular update?

Run it mate, it's fine, it's just for the Kinect.

so i can run the 14699 update after renaming it to $$ystemupdate? Just need to be clear as i dont want to screw anything up.

Yeah, run the system update after renaming it I you haven't done so already. If the Kinect still needs the update just run it.

If the update is when kinect is connected just accept the update as previously stated, if the kinect isn't connected search for updating your console

I was wondering the same thing I have already updated the kinect for the 14699 dash and my RGH is on 14699 would it be compatable? Or does it key it to the console?

Thanks for the help guys. I put the $systemupdate folder into my flash drive, renamed $systemupdate folder to $$ystemupdate and ran the 14699 update. Works like a charm now.
