Kinect update and RGH

Finally getting to grips with my RGH, I want to put all my Kinect games on a Hd and play them on FSD. the problem I have is slim is banned and on 2.0.14699. am i safe downloading the update from M$ to get my kinect to work or will that nob up the console?

Just make sure it's the update for 14699 and you will be fine.

Let me know if you can't find it and I will upload it for you.

Simply run the official 14699 update and that will install Avatar and Kinect data.

Make sure the Kinect sensor is plugged into your console so that it's software/drivers can be installed.

got the update. before i update it though. do i need a disc drive in there? will it get me in a loop if theres not?

bah, the updates not booting either. I've stuck it on a USB on the root folder, is that all i need to do? and boot to NXE?

Rename the update to "$$ystemUpdate".

Yes it should. Try a different drive if you can.

Check your launch.ini - do you see noupdater = false or noupdater = true?

If it says true, use $$ystemUpdate otherwise use $SystemUpdate (more information can be found in the DashLaunch readme).

Also, if you have FSD loading by default, try holding RB as the console boots.

Have you got dashlaunch patches installed? If so it needs to be $$ystemupdate if not $systemupdate.

yep fat32, my hdd is not in so its not booting to FSD and just by just bypassing it. it usually boots straight to it

You need to have a HDD (or a memory unit with a minimum of 128MB of storage) attached.

What happens at the moment when you plug your Kinect in? Does it prompt for an update, with the option to accept it?
