RGH Kinect update

Before I RGH my Slim trinity I was on 14966 and kinect was working. After I RGH it says that it needs kinect update on kinect games

I tried to place the update in a USB after changing the update folders name as stated in a tutorial I read but It does not respond to the USB it never launches the update


How can I get pass this?

If you have DashLaunch installed with updates disabled, the folder should be named $$ystemUpdate otherwise you should name it $SystemUpdate.

Also note that the USB stick should be formatted to FAT32.

I tried both names $$ystemUpdate and $SystemUpdate.
and the USB is FAT 32

You downloaded the update from xbox.com?

Put the update folder on the root of your USB stick, connect it to the console, power your console on and if you have DashLaunch installed, try holding RB as the console boots.

It should just offer you the update, select ok and it updates the Kinect. Its not a System Update as such.

I did :
1- Format USB drive into FAT32
2- Download update same as my dash which is 14699
3- put the folder $$SystemUpdate in root directory as I have dashlaunch
Still not working plus I used the RB while booting trick

.. Guys thank you anyway ... but I really know how to update a console this is something out of the ordinary ... strange really it's not asking me to accept the update but the USB is detected !!!

I think I had the same problem. It just popped up saying the Kinect needs an update, so I just let it update. I knew it wasn't a system update and it went just fine. No USB stick or anything, just needed the update. There are a few similar threads. When it prompts for the update, just accept it and see what happens.

I plugged a Kinect into my RGH falcon, and it found all the update files on my HDD already.

Console asked me to update, I hit yes and it did whatever it needed to do. Maybe you should try that without the USB stick.

Exactly what happened with me.

I played some games and just before I shut the system down I tried one more time and it worked >>>> finally

The file name was $$ystemupdate as mentioned in tut and by you guess it was just buggy

It worked with the USB... although I had the update but even when I accepted it didn't find it ...

At last it worked with the USB
