PIF is too high, so would not use them, as stated 4 or lower is good

Here is Driver San Francisco written at 4x On intenso branded Richojpnd01c media code. This disk did not verify and hung at 49%, if you look at the kprobe scan it is very clear that the newer part of the disk that we are writing to is the problem and even the legendary liteon with it's amazing error correction can't read it. I really need to be able to patch these disks to write at 2.4x because i think (hope) they might be ok.

and did that verify after burn? i have been testing them discs, various options i have gone through 15 already all burn ok, but fail verification?

To all i know to use Verbatims and i have successfully backed up batman and Gears of War3 .

I have a few spindles of the other discs and want to experiment. but i agree with many if we can reduce the speed to 2.4x they may just be ok.

if my pif is too high how come they said that this verb was ok????????
try buning @2.4. and 4 pif is the target. but its not the end of the world if it goes to about 8.:) disc are not failing verification because of the pif.

I posted this last night after my first burn and thought great, these discs are going to work after all.

Since then i have tried 3 more burns and all burn 100% but fail veify at 49%
First disc installed to HDD 100% but the other 3 threw out an unreadable/dirty disc error.

I also tried to burn a regular XGD2 with OPC set and it failed verify at 0%

Reburnt with OPC off and verified 100%

Looks like having success with a particular disc doesnt neccisarily mean your good to go.

Off to grab some verbs.

I found this tool called MediaCodeSpeedEdit

It was recently updated (October 3) to add support for all the LiteOn iHASx24B drives.

Could we use this on the Burner Max firmware to edit the mediacode table? I imagie c4eva did something similar to allow the MKM003 discs to be burned at 2.4 speed.

I opened up the Burner Max firmware for the iHAS624B in this tool and strangely enough MKM003 is not listed in the table. Only MKM001, 004 and 0a3 are listed.

However the RICOHJPND01 that I have is listed and shows the lowest speed is 4x at the moment.

I just loaded my original firmware backup in this tool and MKM003 is in there. I believe c4eva has purposely changed it to MKM03A so he could do some magic to the real MKM003 discs somewhere else in the firmware.

However, that doesn't mean we couldn't change the mediacodes that are still in there to a lower speed...
