Here's my Nero Speed scan of Dark Souls.

I'm noticing almost all games I burn have a single spike in PIF around the layer break. I was told it's as should be.

This is my 4th try. What I did find was I was having problems with the drive connected to one of my Sata connectors controlled by the Marvell Chip. My computer would lockup for short periods and when I ran the test I had a couple of huge spikes in the PI and PIF data. I changed the drive over to the AMD controlled Sata connector and this was the result.

That's a good point. I have good burns, but I don't like seeing even single 8 or 9 PIF spikes when I can get < 4.

I'll try running the drive off of my VIA6421. Will post back results.

Yeah what's up with that?
003s have been pretty damn good results for the most part.
I'd try another disc and make sure you close all your programs and don't mess with the comp.
Also make sure its 4x and OPC is on, there are some 2.4 003 results that look bad.

It could always be a fluke disc as well, I'd burn a couple more to test that's what I've done.

Wow, what a difference turning all options like SmartBurn, HyperTuning Forced and Hyper Tuning Online off made!!!

:rolleyes2::rolleyes2::rolleyes2:

Check these out.

Both are burns of Dark Souls.

The worst result is from having the above options ON, while the best result came from having all options OFF.

All 5 of these games burnt without error, and all of them verified without error. They all play in the 360, and both forza discs installed fine, (others haven't been tested yet).

Smartburn = enabled
Force Hyper Tuning = disabled
Online Hyper Tuning = disabled
OPC = disabled
Burn Speed = 2.4x
Chipset: nForce

Gamethatshallnotbenamed Disc 1, burnt at 2.4x with new fw.

Forza 4 Disc 1, verbatim @ 2.4x + LT MAX

Forza 4 Disc 2, verbatim @ 2.4x + LT MAX

Batman Arkham City, verbatim @ 2.4x + LT MAX

Gamethatshallnotbenamed Disc 2, burnt at 2.4x with new fw.

It appears that the new iHas324 is showing allot more errors than my old reliable DH204AP (Lite-on). Here is a scan of the same disc (NBA2K12) burned with the new Burner Max firmware. I know the DH204AP is a good scanner, though not sure about the iHAS series. Not sure if the newer Mediatek chipsets are as good as the old ones. (Though they clearly scan better than the NEC ones). Anyway, take this info for what it is worth, if anything.

The two scans with the Higher PIF's are taken with the iHAS drive.

Scanning discs again brings me back to the old CDFreaks days when everyone would post their scans of different media types.
