Here's my latest reburn of Forza 4, Disc 2.

As posted earlier, I switched from one SATA chip on my mobo to the chip my HD raid is on, and it made a big difference. Other people had similar results.

A perfect burn.

The first burn is when I was using my AMD SB750 SouthBridge SATA ports, you can see the score is a failing 64 in Nero.

The next reburn I just made was using my onboard GIGABYTE SATA2 chip and the score is now > 90 average. Here's it's 93.

Not a bad result for this low cost disc.

Smartburn enabled only ( defaut setting in this drive I Think ).

Burn at 2,4x with modded firmware, no OPC, SATA.

Brand name is Intenso.

Dark Souls game, Imgburn verify 100 % OK, perfect install on Xbox.

Edit :

Why is the scanning range different for some people ?

It's still a crappy burn. Your PI max is too high, > 100, an d your PI avg > 5, 25 is way too many errors on every scan.

See OPs first post.

This would score about a 50-60% in Nero DiscSpeed.

Also there are various settings with the EEPROM Utility that you can play with such as.....

Smartburn = ?
Force Hyper Tuning = ?
Online Hyper Tuning = ?

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73612

Never touched them. Just followed the guide to flash and thats it.

However - what i consider to be an important factor is when i was burning, thats all i was doing on my pc. I never touched it until i finish the burn as i feel i get better quality results when i have less processes running.

Well there you can clearly see how the PI jumps up after the layer break.

The average is obviously even worse then the previous one, here's it's at 22 vs 18.

But like I said, you should not be getting PI avgs > 5. ESPECIALLY if it's Verbatim.

That shows there's a problem with possibly the SATA chip the drive is using. The first thing you should do is switch the port/chip your drive is on.

This is what I did last night, see my earlier burns and the later ones. You'll see a vast differences simply because of the SATA chips used on your mobo or addon cards like the VIA 6421 and setting all options off in EEPROM.

well i have actuly tryed that and i have a top of the rage systerm tried all the settings and nothing is working same sh*tty results my pc mainboard is a msi 890FXA-GD70 im having one last try now and if thats no better im naffing this off coz these disk mkm 003s dont come cheep

It doesn't matter if you have a top of the ....i think you meant top of the line system. If the chip in the motherboard is noisy, that's what you'll get in burning.

I have 2 SATA chips on my motherboard, one was not giving good results, the other one is.

Verbs are not cheap compared to what? An xbox game you bought at $60+?

Burn proof disabled
100meg buffer
opc off
Burn Speed = 2.4x

theone360ace, there are so many variables. Stop burning and try different things. Buy a diff drive, try a diff media, try a different chipset, try ANYTHING else. You wasted 25 discs because you decided thats what you wanted to do.

Can somebody post results for a working condition?, like
Chipset + mobo, what Operating system, what drive, results, everything? Seems to me like mkm003s work A LOT more often than mkm 001s. Also 124 Bs seem to work more often too, idk if that is just a strange trend or actually true though.

At first I couldn't get ANY 4x OPC MKM003 burns verified with ImgBurn (2.4x burns were fine, only the Kprobe scans looked just 'okay', not great like I want to). So I just had to burn my MKM003 (which are rated at 8x) at 4x speed but I always ended up with errors at 50% during verification.

After a few burns I enabled hypertuning and online hypertuning in the EEPROM (and smartburn was enabled by default) and I got over the 50% during verification but then I got thrown some miscompare errors (3 in total). Somebody informed me that might be caused by bad RAM and because I wanted to take all possible sources of error out of the question I decided to test my memory.

I tested 2 (out of 4) of my RAM modules with memtest86+ and they both showed no errors after 1 pass of testing, as those 2 modules make up for 4GB of RAM in total I removed the other 2 completely and decided to go on with just those 2 (that are pretty surely error-free, even though I ran tests for only 1 pass).

I changed SATA port on my motherboard and hooked up the burner with a brand new SATA cable freshly unpacked from a sealed package.

Then I decided to try again, the burn fully verified and the Kprobe scans started to look better. This is my first successful burn at 4x w/ OPC and hypertuning, ofc a XGD3 game (Warhammer 40k: Space Marine):

So to sum it up:
  1. Verbatim MKM003 (printable) DVD+R DL's
  2. Brand new Lite-On iHAS324
  3. Burned at 4x with OPC
  4. Enabled hypertuning and online hypertuning
  5. Changed S-ATA port and used a brand new S-ATA cable
