HERE IS THE RESULT OF MY OPTIMUM BRANDED DISC. THESE DISC I GOT FROM FRYS AND ARE REALLY CHEAP. THEY ARE AN EXACT CLONE OF THE VERBATIMS MKM003. IF YOU LOOK AT THE DISC INFO IT IS VERY INDENTICAL. I WOULD SAY THESE ARE THE BEST OPTION FOR AFFORDABLE DVD'S AND STILL GET THE PERFORMANCE OF A VERBATIM. ALL BURNED AND VERIFIED ERROR FREE.

XGD3 FORZA DISC 1
BURNED WITH IMAGE BURN 4X OPC ENABLED
THE DISC I USE IS A BRAND CALLED OPTIMUM. THEY ARE SOLD AT FRY'S ELECTRONICS FOR A SPINDLE OF 100 FOR ONLY $60. I FEEL LIKE THEY ARE A CLONE OF THE VERBATIM BECAUSE THE DISC INFO IS THE SAME AS THE VERBATIM MKM003. SO FAR IN ALL MY TESTING OPTIMUM IS THE MOST CONSISTENT NON VERBATIM DISC FOR BURNING GAMES. MESSAGE ME IF YOU NEED MORE INFO.

Both tests are from one game. Batman AC

Both burned with X360UsbPro, Laptop

Verbatim mkm 003 4x opc enabled , both with smartburn anabled ...

i joined this forum to help people. i dont flame nor start a debate. i tested these as to give light to whoever already owns the optimum. by the way i tested it on 3 games im doing battelfield game disc 1 as we speak. what do i gain from lying. i jin forums to either get help or help others. i have enogh drama in my life

I'm guessing the MID on those Optimum's are from CMC or Ricoh. If it's CMC, total garbage. If it's Ricoh, you probably have Chinese made fakes. The only thing I can tell you is try other peoples burn setting's or buy Verbatim.

by GUESSING the mids you ay optimum is garbage yet im getting error free burns and verification with to (kprobe and nero cd speed 5) yet you tell me my disc is no good after conclusive evidence that it performs well as verbatims. sorry man i think sometimes the truth is a hard bullet to bite. you might overpaid for your verbatim yet i payed less. if that irks you sorry . but you would be suprise how many people use optimums. get a hold of one and determine it for yourself. you think verbatinm isnt made in china. you think it cannot be duplicated in the same facttory. GTFOH! seriously this is what i get for trying to help. no wonder other forums hate TX forums. buncha haters and kids flame you for anything. sorry folks for trying to help and shed some light if you feel offended that a sheaper product performed as well as your overpaid verbatims then my heart goes out to you ..and my a$$hole

well here goes 3 graphs same game here,

first one using datawrite dl
eeprom settings as standard on all 3 graphs,
graph one datawrite disks and imageburn settings as standard apart from enable opc burns and verifys:)

then graph 2 new verbs arrive change settings in imgburn to smartburn, force ht and online ht enabled for next 2 graphs,

the 1st verb disk burns and verifys, the second disk burns and fails on 55% so different reading all 3 same game

Oh yeah, don't forget to buy a multimeter so you can adjust the pots on your drive.:D

got to admit this is starting to puzzle me now, just reburned same game that failed on last verb attempt on verify and kprobe with my usual datawrite,

burned and verified fine and kprobe was great,

same image same pc same burner, and the sh*tter disk had better results,

Im getting different results on every test, with the PI and PIF varying. Im using verbs mkm003 and even with good Kprobe results, im getting like 84 in nero score. This is also starting to confuse me a little but it is only still trail and error, i think i might try changing the eeprom settings and when i get some more verbs (ran out) ill post back.

Also its worth mentioning the images are stored on an external HD, will copy them over to my sata HD and see if that makes a difference (most probably)


Also, the first burn i did i scored

PI max = 36 avg = 1.42
PIF max = 2 avg = 0.11

However a retest of the same disc gave me

PI =39 avg = 2.06
PIF = 4 avg = 0.19

Still a good result but why a different one? should i take the bad or the good result?
