Ok, Greetings everyone! My first post is a simple question which I hope some of the knowledgeable people on this forum might be able to answer quickly and easily.
I have a Samsung SH-D162C drive with the latest Kreon firmware, which is what I use to rip the .iso from the game disk and create the .dvd file (with the ingenius suport of the "Xbox Backup Creator" program). I burn using Verbatim media (as I see this is the preferred media), using my LG GWA-4165B (don't knock it, it works). I burn with ImgBurn at 2.4x, and have succesfully backed up one game (ChromeHounds).
However, when I tried to back up Oblivion, the .iso ripped fine (or seemed to, anyhow) - I checked the stealth sector - and everything looked good. I burned at 2.4x on Verbatim media and the disk would not finalize (twice in a row). It would burn all the way, and then not finalize. Obviously, the disks were unplayable.
I was thinking two things:
1.) A bad .iso (not that it should make a difference)
2.) There is a particular setting on xbox creator or imgburn that I am misssing.
Any thoughts?
