In what's unlikely to be a particularly proud moment for the Los Angeles Post Department's finest, a 911 call over the weekend ended in a showdown with a life-sized statue of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Simon 'Ghost' Riley. The offices of game studio Robotoki were stormed by the LAPD after a mischievous designer just couldn't help himself and pressed the building's big red panic button, studio founder and former Infinity Ward CM Robert Bowling told Polygon. "Our studio is equipped with a 'panic' alarm in case of an armed threat, which was installed yesterday," Bowling said. "One of our designers, who shall not be shamed, pressed it on his way out because apparently when boys find buttons that they are unsure of, their first instinct is to push it."So after pushing it, everyone went home for the day, leaving their lonely studio head to receive the assault of their actions," he lamented.

Four officers responding to the call surrounded the building and, spotting the life-sized statue of Ghost at the rear of the compound, sprang into action.
"I was in my office when they arrived and saw them coming up our stairs, guns drawn," Bowling said. "They yelled for me to put my hands up and walk towards them slowly, then took me into custody and out of the studio until they cleared the rest of the rooms and floors."
The LAPD just stormed @robotoki with guns drawn and detained me as they cleared the building. I blame GHOST. twitter.com/fourzerotwo/st...

Thankfully, once the officers had detained Bowling and discovered that the armed killer they'd been summoned to dispatch was, in fact, a plastic effigy, they were quick to laugh off the whole event, and no fines or arrests were issued. In fact, the cops allegedly stuck around and patched things up with Bowling over a swift round of games. All's well that ends well then, eh?Source: OXM
