Hi just installed a 2.6 ce mod chip (solderless) in a 1.6 version ,flashed the Bios with the latest bios X2 5032 and all seems well with the standard HD,When i go to install a 200 gig seagate i have problems !....it booted to the slayers disks and installed as a large hd .....so far so good !! ..... But now when it boots up all i get is RED/GREEN flashing eject button and Error 14 on the screen.
I know thats its a dash error but the xbox wont boot the slayers disk to reinstall the software ??...any ideas would be great
Have reformatted the drive a couple of times but still no good ,it wont boot the disk..The original drive works fine but why wont the 200 gig work ??
I`m new to this so please be gentle with me

Cheers fo now Stumpy

unplug and replug your dvdrom ide cable. Also check your jumper on the new hard drive. I have all of mine set to "cable select".
Once you get back into slayers, connect to it via ftp, and copy the x2config.ini to F:
just to make sure that the bios is looking in the correct places for a dashboard.

This maybe just a problem with your slayers cd-r, as I have also had the same problem. I've eliminated the issues by using cd-rws or ritek dvd-rs.

Is this a new hard drive, or did it come from somewhere else?

Hi,

make sure your X2 config file is correct !!!!

btw what dashboard do you usually use when booting up with the mod chip on?

Are you able to reach the xbox hdd drive via ftp ?

if yes ... try to copy all the stuff from your original stock drives (C and E)
to your pc ... install the new drive
after format .. copy the backup of the old drive to your new drive via FTP
