Latest X3 chips being shipped with Cromwell 3.03 ????

Why arent the latest Xecuter chips being shipped with the cromwell bios for 1.6 XBoxes? I bought 2 Xecuter chips a couple of months ago from LLama. I figured since they just started carrying Xecuter products that they would be a fresh batch and be shipped with the 3.03 bios. Anyways after hours of rechecking my connections (because thats the standard answer from everyone around here when you get fragging). I decided to pull the chip out of my 1.6 and put it into my 1.4. What do you know it booted right up. So i reflashed the backup bios with the latest cromwell and reinstalled it into the 1.6. It booted up right away. What is someone going to do if they dont have another XBox to use to reflash a chip? Are the Xecuter chips supposed to have the latest boot bios? I can tell you i wasnt to impressed but i am glad its straightened it out now.

X3CEs now ship with 3.01 and 3.03 in the main banks and 3.01 in the back-up. It's only the 1.6b that needs 3.03

Xecuter 2.6ce also ships with Cromwell version 3.01 bank 1 - Cromwell version 3.03 bank 2 and chips produced from around November last year have all been duel Cromwell as far as I remeber.
The only thing you must remeber to do if you have an Xecuter 3/ce and your chip ONLY boots with Cromwell 3.03 (this means it's a 1.6b) is to change the recovery bios to Cromwell 3.03
I would guess the chip you purchased was an Xecuter 2.6 and not the Xecuter 2.6ce which all have the duel Cromwell on.

I just had the same thing happen to me. I just got an X3CE chip about a month ago. I ended up sending it back at their request as they had maybe thought that the bios wouldn't boot for some reason. I had ordered the Xapt3r V1.6 solderless adapter as well. I'm new to all this and didn't want to screw my Xbox. I would have thought that ordering THAT version of the adapter would have been a dead give away to my xbox version. I just got the new chip last night...... worked just perfectly. Thanks to all that posted to help me....

ALL Xecuter CE verisons have the duel cromwell 3.01/3.03 so it's not in any way connected to wingsbc problem as his chip was the previous version that did not have 3.03 on.
