Im a reader so dont generally ask question, however this will be a complete noob one...i have flashed many slims, today i aquired one and done the usual update before attempting to flash it..it is reading as 1775 firmware...reading jungle flasher it seems i have to use jrunner to get the files i need..jrunner tut says i am jtagging/rgh the console ?? is this correct ?..i have a nand x which i have never used..do i have the tools i need or do i need QSB etc and any other hardware...the nandx has never been updated either.

EDIT: Didnt realise i had a DG16D5s drive :( i have the skills to desolder the mediatek chip and replace it with unlocked one and alsoinstall external SPI...will doing this be the same as having the LTU pcb or is it a totally different pcb ?

No because that would be the same as spoofing which is not supported.

I fail to see how Martin didn't answer your question - the JungleFlasher PDF contains all the information you need for each drive.

Martin did not answer my question, he merely done the unhelpful mod thing and I mean no disrespect in that. JF tut merely tells you to do the rgh with jrunner tool...so download that and start reading when you have never done an RGH and you only want to flash your drive to play your backups would no doubt raise questions in many people..i titled the post accordingly and also in the 'noob' section..the answer that you provided was all that was needed same as the above answer...job done...now I just wait for the cheaper LTU hardware to come out that I read about from the 'stickies'

Exactly why I asked you to read the PDF as it DID answer your question and whilst this may lead to further questions, you have a better understanding of the process by reading first.

Forums are pointless if you're just not going to read anything before posting. Not to mention against our rules. Being a noob doesn't exclude you from the rules, even if you are too lazy to read.

It's only a pain for those of you (like yourself) who have an allergy to reading before asking questions which have been answered dozens of times before.
