LCP Rebuild??

In the X3 installation guide its says:

Now for the most difficult bit - the v1.6 LPC Rebuild. You should note that this is needed for v1.6 Xbox's ONLY. We have to do this because 4 of the LPC outputs (namely LAD0 / LAD1 / LAD2 / LAD3) are actually missing. These points are of course needed for any LPC modchip to work so we simply connect the "LAD's" to where the signal is actually live on the motherboard. All points are relatively easy if you have some amount of soldering experience - you may struggle if this is your first time so take care !

If you have the v1.6 Rebuild PCB from your supplier then goto this link on how to fit it - you do not need to install manual wires.

How do i know if i have a LPC rebuild or a PCB Rebuild and what are they. I have an X3 chip with a version 1.6b xbox. Can anybody help me?

Thanks

Cool thanks! I might have to order one of these looks like it would be worth the money.

It should have been included with the X3 package. Where did you buy it from?

It is definately worth using one of these on a 1.6. I did one last night and it was very straight forward, a lot easier than soldering the wires for rebuild on a previous install.

Also make sure that you have the correct flashbios for the 1.6b or all you will get is the amber/green flashing after installing.

If you bought off of somebody with old stock you might run into troubles later after the install. You have a v1.6b Xbox and that requires that you have FlashBIOS 3.0.3 preflashed on the chip for you to get the X3 BIOS flashed. Old stock from a slow seller that didn’t include the PCB rebuild as standard sounds like the chip wont have FlashBIOS 3.0.3 on it.

have you looked at what's in the box? The chip, a switch and the rebuild are all wrapped in the styrofoam thingy. If not, if you're in canada, I could probably mail you my extra on (didn't need it for a 1.0)
