I just installed the 2.6ce on a 1.6. When I power it on with the chip disabled it works fine. When chip is enabled it turns on for a few seconds then off then back on then frags, following someones post on here I tried holding in the enable switch and it then powered on fine. The only problem now is when it powers on the eject LED is solid green for about 10 -15 secs then it goes solid orange. I get nothing but a black screen. No error codes and no flashing LED just solid orange, and I have checked the LPC install and the connections are clean...Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

I tried both banks again and both give the same result. I have been looking everywhere and cant find anything about a solid orange LED. I just installd the chip and havent even had a chance to flash it yet.

Try this:

Press the eject button. The eject LED will flash and then stop. Press eject again.

Keep doing this - you might get lucky and get a FlashBIOS screen (eventually!).

Thanks for your help but still no luck...tried for a while and nothing. Could it be a bad chip? Everything if fine when disabled, so I am going to try my buddy's chip and see if mine might be bad or if it has to do with LPC/pin header install. Any other suggestions would be a great help.

Got to the FlashBios screen finally. Since holding in the enable switch worked to power it on I tried holding in both the enable switch and the bank selection switch and whaaallaaaa. Right to FlashBios blue screen...now if I can only make a selection from the menu but I guess that is for another forum. Thanks for all your help Martin
