I want to start to mod x-box's. Is there anyway i can get into trouble for this? I would only tell the people about only being able to read there legal copy of games they own. Can i do this? And will i get into trouble? I am not going to tell them that they can copy other games that they don't own. Thanks for all that apply.

as the X3 comes it's legal...because the BIOS that's on it won't do anything that's illegal

As soon as you even download the X3 BIOS though you've stepped into questionable legality.

Like Telexen said the X3 comes with legal BIOS, and its perfectaly legal to open you box and solder it, but as soon as you download BIOS from xbins its illegal. Wonder why M$ dosen't just ban ppl with hacked BIOS, prolly cuz they can't check the BIOS

I guess I see it differently. If I buy the x-box, its mine to do with as I please. If I want to hack it up and add things to it...great...my business. If I want to back-up my own games, thats legal..distributing those games or keeping them after you sell the orginal is wrong. I'm not making little x-boxes out my original x-box, I'm not making money or taking money out of microsofts hands. If Microsoft offered an x-box like this, with a huge HD, I would have bought it. I enjoy the fact that I can sit on my couch and select from over 50 games without getting off my butt and having all the little dorito pieces fall off my lap onto the floor. Maybe its a twisted view, but its mine...all mine...

It is yours to do what you please with

The problem isn't what you're doing with it ... the problem is the BIOS itself is illegal...it violates copyright laws

Opening up your Xbox - legal ... though violates warantee.
Use of a mod chip - grey are in the US, legal in some countries.
Use of a BIOS on a mod chip based on MS code - illegal.
Copying games you own from DVD to HDD - legal under fair use considerations of DMCA.
Copying games you DON'T own from DVD to HDD - illegal.
Accessing Xbox Live from a chipped Xbox - a violation of the TOS you sign up for, MS have the right to ban you under the contract you agreed to. Technically, illegal (breach of contract)

Commercially modding Xboxen - grey area. Legal to do the mod, illegal to distribute a BIOS worth a damn.

Life sucks :)

What's the best place to download save games?

And what's the procedure to transfer it into a console using an usb pen drive?

I found this site but it's not letting me download the files even after registering! Maybe one needs to have certain number of posts?

Used google to find that the site you linked has a "one post = one download" rule. Time = 3 seconds.
