legal to sell xebian copies?

I remember reading on some linux webistes not long ago that since linux is free to download, you can sell copies of it. Does this apply to Xebian too?

In other words, is it legal to sell a backups of Xebian on ebay?

i have seen them on ebay before, but i spect you should put on there ' all software is available to download for free but this saves you the time if you havnt got broadband, or a cd writter'

That's a grey area if you can sell someone else’s intellectual property. Yes Linux is free because it’s open source code, but if it has been compiled by someone I do not think you can sell actually sell it for profit. I do believe it could be sold to cover production cost or even just given away free of charge.

May want to look at the GNU license agreement before you go and do it.

Yea I do not like the rep points system here. I gave reps out when they are deserving, like this I would give out rep points for.

I think Xecuters board is all screwed up cause I get reps that do not add up to anything, this is what I get all the time

and I get no

. I might as well just get negatives at this rate, which so far has been one.

I really do not care for any reps, cause people know who's who here any way.
