get evox dashboard and edit the ini file so that flashing a bios is the only option to select and go from there and flash the correct bios

You can even add a line to Evox.ini which automatically flashes the BIOS you choose. This would work for you:

[Menu]

Section "Root"
{
Item "Flash BIOS","c:\bios\x2_5035.bin",ID_Flash_Bios_File
}

You would edit the path accordingly, but it would then avoid you having to specify the BIOS needed.

thanks sooo much for your help. OK so far ive edited the ini and uploaded it so that it looks like this:

Section "Root"
{
Item "Flash BIOS","c:\x2_4983.67.bin",ID_Flash_Bios_File
}
Item "Launch DVD",ID_Launch_DVD
Item "Trainers",ID_trainer
Item "MS Dashboard",ID_MS_Dash
Item "Reboot",ID_Quick_Reboot
# Item "Power Cycle",ID_Full_Reboot
Item "Power Off",ID_Power_Off
# Item "Lock Harddisk",@210
# Item "Unlock Harddisk",@211
Section "System Utils

However nothing happens so I assume i must have something set wrong in my evox file.
Is the bios supposed to flash automatically or am I supposed to push a button?????

I gave you an entire MENU section to replace and you went and added to it!!!!

[Menu]

Section "Root"
{
Item "Flash BIOS","c:\x2_4983.67.bin",ID_Flash_Bios_File
}

That's it for the menu section - leave the network sections alone.

This assumes you've copied the 512k/1024k BIOS file x2_4983.67.bin to your Xbox c:\drive.

And yes, you'll have to press A in order to flash once the dashboard has loaded.

I must have really messed something up in my Evox file. I took out everything from the Menu section except what you sent me and it still wont work. As far as bios' i have the one on the C drive which is the x2.4983.67.bin (512) and in my C:/ Bios file i have the same one, a x2.5032.bin (512) and a x2.4983.06.bin (256)

I have many others on my computer HDD from the Auto Installer Deluxe that i downloaded.

I appreciate all your help but i just dont know what to do now. :(

well done - I'll be honest, I wasn't sure with the added filename in the line if you would still get the confirmation option (Y).

Glad you got it sorted :)
