I flashed my X3 with 2914 and had it working fine after some initial trouble with the flashbios. Anyway...I changed a video setting in the configuration and now when I start it up I get a blank screen that flashes once...with sound. I read some threads on here that said to check the soddering so I did and now when I start up my box I get a black and white screen that scrolls vertically.....

its not a soldering issue , its eeprom settings , try booting the box with a different switches settings or the backup bios ( reset and eject button together - purple light on extetrnal switches )
then try to flash your bios again .

So try and flash a spare bank with x2 4983? I still wonder why my video is B&W and scrolling vertically.

Ok - your problem here is that you've changed the video settings on your Xbox. Read the nfo file that comes with the 2914 BIOS and you'll see that you can quick boot to another video mode (PAL or NTSC). Either that or you can blindly change it. Search my posts for 'D-Pad' and you should find instructions.

Thank you so much

Martin C...thank you very much for your help. I found that earlier thread and burnt that utility to a cd-r..booted with it in there...hit A...and BAM..works fine again....only problem is that i still can't get video on 2914..but i can on 1957 i think it is...but i know i saw a thread about that somewhere too...thank you again...much respect

You may need to reset the X3 EEPROM - there's a file you can run from the RAR file you downloaded. Copy the X3_erase.xbe file to your Xbox and run it. After the EEPROM is reset, try 2914 again. As 1959 is working, it may be a setting which isn't available to the older BIOS...
