Here's, one that had me foxed for a couple of days.. I could no longer link to my X-box to my PC via FXP.. Tried everything I could think of (including both router connection and x-over cable) and all that I could find on the forum. I then realised I couldn't set a network up between my PC and laptop either... Bad cable/router? NO! :?

Turned out that it was due to the fact that the "Microsoft TCP/IP version 6" was ticked on my network connection settings (did I do that?).... Unchecked it an all is fine now. Simple!

Maybe Iam just thick but this took me ages to sus out.. Maybe one for the memory bank eh!

That protocol doesn't install by default, so maybe it was added by someone or something...

TCP/IP is TCP/IP - setting the IP Address and Subnet on it should have given you a connection still. :?

Anyhoo - glad you sorted it :)

If it wasn't me then I suspect my daughter has been tinkering again. You see Martin, thats the problem with having kids..... They bugger about with all your stuff and covertly steal your money at the same time... You wait and see!

Anyway, can't think why I couldn't get a connection by setting the IP and Subnet... Then again I could hardly be regarded as a networking GURU. Thanks for the reply.. Hope the little one is well.
