Linux Xebian problem

I have recieved the official Linux Xebian disc from whitedog.co.uk today, it loads up untill it finally gets to the white screen with Xebian as the dekstop image, a keyboard in the top left, then it goes to a black screen after a second and with some text that i cant read cos it was too fast (this black screen with text only appearson screen for less than 1 second. Then it goes to a completely black screen, and after about 20 seconds, does it all again.

Has anyone had this problem before or have a solution. I will give rep points to anyone who is helpful. Thanks.

Incase it makes any difference I have a v1.0 xbox wth an x3, x3 bios, 120gb maxtor hdd, and Conexant video encoder.

I just thought that it was made for use with a legal bios (i think) so i thought about trying to launch it from ds linux, it worked. It is very slow though so I'm gonna install it to F partition later and then maybe it woill run faster off my 120gb hdd. Then I'm definitely gonna add the extra 64mb of ram to my xbox too.

If anyone has any important info about solderinmg the chips on to the mobo and potential problems afterwards please let me know. I will give rep points to anyone who helps.

Also I was wondering, how do you get new apps for xebian to use? Kazaa/p2p probably but I mean, are standard linux apps useable with xebian or do they have to be converted to .xbe files or something like that? Also if you have any recommendations or links to xebian linux apps I will give you rep points.
