Lite-On 1175 PCB?

Hey guys, probably gonna get called out hard on this 1 lol but anyway here she goes!
So I've done lots of reading and searching and well I've really only got 1 question! does the Lite-On 1175 need the replacement PCB in order to be flashed and play your backup games?
From everything I read it appears that you in fact do need it but just want to confirm with everybody else here!

no it isnt needed at all, it was just released because there were a few spare parts at the factory

It's only needed if you managed to get chocolate on yours.
