Lite-On DG-16D2S Replacement Questions

Hey guys,

I have come to the noob forum in hope of having my question answered. I have searched the forums and I'm kinda sure of what the answer is, but I want it confirmed more than anything.


I have two PHAT xboxes which both have the Lite-On DG-16D2S.

Xbox 1 has the current latest dashboard with latest IXtreme firmware (I have the DVD-Key for this)
Xbox 2 has dashboard 2.0.13599.0 and original DVD Firmware, not been flashed before (No DVD Key available for this)

I am going to get Xbox 2 RGH later this week, however XBOX 1 has already been flashed to the latest I-XTREME firmware. Is it easy enough to swap the DVD drives over or is there more than just unplugging it and plugging it into the new console?

Your advise and help is appreciated.

Why do you want to swap drives? Are they both working with the correct key? Get your key from Jf for the second xbox and flash your custom firmware (instructions in jf tutorial). I used Unlock probe 3 for my 16d2s

I don't have the key for XBOX 2 and I don't have the tools to get it, so that's why I am wondering if swapping from XBOX 1 which key I have would work if I swapped the drives across.

Hope that makes sense.

Drives are paired to their consoles with a unique drive key.

You can not use one drive key on another console.

What do you want to achieve exactly?
