I dont know what i did to tell you the true but i saved a lot of files! i don't know how to put back the key i saved!! i saved dummy, identify,Inquiry,Key and serial..The last thing that i do i click dummy from iextreme and agian come (Dummy.bin is missing some drive specific info... If this is an old dummy.bin that predates ix1.5 then if possible you should re-extract your drive info again with the latest tools!!!! because my drive was already flashed but old firmware and i ignore it i watched the video and did everything like he did but when i put back the xbox and plug it. it keeps OPEN TRAY.

if you know the dummy.bin is fine then load that as source and auto load LT as target. then liteon erase and write. if the drives not detected then just select the port the drive was on and intro and it should get vendor mode.

hi.
Ive just had this problem on saturday. It stemmed from an old drive that had been upgraded by MS to the new 93*** (sticky labels over the top of old ones).

Instead of clicking no, click yes, then another screen came up (cant remember what it said) then i clicked no

it worked perfectly

Quick update from my situation a couple of pages back. I'm still getting the 'serial data is bad' message, even with a new CK3 Pro.

The question now is, as my June 08 console hasn't been flashed before and will not be used online, would it be possible to flash the firmware without reading the key?

I'm running out of options on this having eliminated every other possible problem in the chain, just trying to find some kind of solution!

Any suggestions you can give would be hugely appreciated.

Yes to everything! Basically, it's a brand new 360 purchased a couple of weeks ago, but my local supermarket had obviously had it in the back for a while as it was manufactured in June 2008 (HDMI version).

I couldn't believe my luck when I opened it as it was so old it still had the blades dashboard, so is also potenitally jtagable. As I explained previously my buddy Dan and I have been flashing 360s for nearly 3 years, but this is the first time I've come across the serial data is bad error.

We've followed literally every potential solution to the error that we've been able to Google. The drive is cycled correctly, the USB drivers are installed for the CK3 pro, have tried it on RS232 and USB ports, have bought replacement probes and pros, tried on seperate computers with seperate VIA cards... literally everything! No matter what we still get the 'serial data is bad' message.

I did think we may have bricked the drive inadvertently, but having hooked it back into the 360 it's still working totally fine.

I'm tearing my hair out over this one as I've flashed plenty of 74850c's before and never had this problem.

Any help you can give would be hugely appreciated.

I am about to mod my LiteOn 74850c drive by following this guide. I saw another guide and some other posts that said you need to do trace cuts and sodder them or something. I am just wondering if this is true or not?

That is not true for the 74850c.

The only reason you'd need to cut and solder a 74850c is if you want the laser calibration data, but that data is completely useless, so just go ahead with a regular key-reading without any cutting whatsoever :)

And there we go, I just finished flashing and testing my second 74850c-drive, with no problems at all :)
I'll just hope they'll release LT+ soon so I can "finish" the console, right now flashing it just feels like something temporary as I know LT+'s just around the corner.

Very well, thanks yet again for your awesome tools Team Xecuter, and thanks to this nice commmunity!

As far as I know, you need to hold the probe in place while clicking the DVDKEY32-button, as JF reads the key at that moment.

It's way easier if you're two people :) Or, you can right-click on the DVDKEY32-button and select a delay.

I.E., if you choose 15s and then press the button, then you'll have 15 seconds to place the probe in position until it does the actual reading.

Hey Mate.

So you have to hold the Probe in place till the Reading is finished!

Don´t worry mate as long as you got 2 Hands you can easily hold the Probe with the one Hand and press the JF Button with the other :D

Takes just 2 sec or so.

I think I did something wrong. Hopefully this is recoverable.

I successfully followed the instructions to get the key, but I then went to the section on the MTK32 tab and it went south. I got an error right after I pressed the LITEON WIPE button. I stopped where I was then I went to the other computer to research it, but while I did, the XBox powered itself off.

Now everytime I power the XBox 360 on to try and get back to the same point, the PC I am using Jungle Flasher with locks up. Its like it sees a goofed up SATA device and freaks out because the PC obviously didn't lock up when it saw the DVD ROM before I had wiped the firmware.

What can I do from here?
