I read somewhere that if you plug the power cable in backwards you can screw something up, I am just wondering if that is true and if so what does it mean?

If you plug it in upside down you can fry the drive, there a notches in the lead to stop this but people still manage to do it
I hope that you will be fine.I have never flashed any xbox360.A shopkeeper flashed my xbox360.
So,i have pre-flashed xbox360.My console drive is lite-on and i think its firmware is 74850C.I come to know about firmware by searching on internet.
Manufacturing date is 2009-01-05.
Lot No.0902x.
Team = FDOU.
Xbox360 = Jasper.
The shopkeeper flashed my xbox360 by soldering wires with drive and with ixtreme 1.6.
Now you know that Microsoft has intoduced some anti-piracy features in new games like assasins creed 3(AP 25).So,i can not play new games.
Also,to overcome this problem new firmware is on its way.I want to reflash my xbox360 myself and now my question is:
Is it easy to reflash my xbox360 and is there any method that i can flash without soldering wires to drive?????
I am new in flashing so,please tell me the method of re-flashing in detail???
Also tell me abut tools and softwares required for flashing???

Should be very easy to do so long as you have the tools
1.CK3 LITE/PRO for dvd drive hook up to computer
2.Team Xecuter xbox opening tool
3.Jungleflasher software (jungleflasher.net)
4. Via 6421 pci sata card for proper drive detection and flashing
5.Probe v2 for further modding after your next flash
6.current LT firmware LT 1.1 for your drive which u place in your jungleflasher "firmwares directory
7. PATIENCE!!
all tools can be found by visiting team Xecuter website and checking out the resellers that are closest and convenient to u be sure to only buy team xecuter products or support will be limited in these forums
after u get all of this and u strip your xbox down to the dvd drive ( tutorials are all over the site ) all u do is simply hook up your ck3 to the dvd drive and run a sata cable from the via card (internal one works best) to the drive then boot up jungleflasher go to the dvdkey tab and press dummy from ixtreme button and it will extract your current dvd key ( SAVE THIS SOMEWHERE SAFE )and automatically load your new firmware to be written after that you can press liteon erase on the MTK flash tab follow the instructions then proceed by pressing WRITE also on the MTK flash Tab wait for it to complete then press outro (MTK FLASH TAB) shut off your ck3 unplug your drive and reinstall it into your xbox u should now have a working xbox that boots back ups if u have any questions feel free to msg me sry for not being to detailed i assume everyone is ALMOST as good as me
LOL just kiddingyou could use ur xbox to power the drive but its a real pain in the ass and much easier to **** up ur flash job if the xbox shuts off on you u can get a ck3 lite for under 20 bucks ! i recommand just buying it

Just a thing: I've heard that complete original firmware is needed. Is it true? Or I have to only put the key in LT+ firmware and flash it?

what firmware do you have? all you need is your dummy.bin.
if you dont have this but a copy of your key then this can be inserted into the LT+ with jf by manual spoofing the key.

I've installed iXtream 1.6 and I have all .bin file that Jungle flasher created.
So I also have Dummy.bin
Ultimately I do not need original fw.

Just posting to say thanks for this tutorial, sucessfully flashed to LT+, using Blaster CK3 and VIA6421 Sata on my Liteon 74850c.
First time I've tried to flash an xbox, so a bit of a noob, but everything went well following this tutorial and reading JF manual, only had a couple of snags that were easily overcome from reading around these forums and the manual.
First snag was I connected the usb from the blaster before installing the drivers, so I had to remove them and reinstall, everything okay after that.
The next snag happened when I went to write the new FW, I got an error saying unknown FW, thought i had bricked it tbh, bit of a panic, but found the solution from the JF manual to just 'Intro' and try again, and it worked after that.
So yea, everything working fine now, games booting well, so big thanks for the tutorial.

I used this guide and work wonderful, all was easy and as described. The only thing missing here is how to use CK3 Probe v2 (the diagram is only for CK3 probe v1) but I found it easy in other tutorial.

I received CK3 pro but it's not rev D. will Jungle flasher work fine also with older version of CK3?

All except the latest slim drives .... it probably will but the details on how to do them hasn't been released yet !
Ah ok! Thank you. I have also Probe V2. So I hope I can use this CK3 also with slim drives (I would change my elite with a new slim).
