Re: Liteon DG-16D2S 74850C - Step-By-Step Guide (Probe 3 Method)

With this method DON'T NEED to connect the ck3pro with usb or serial to pc it dump the original fw even without ck3pro usb drivers & x360usb pro kit?

Only with old classic method with probe1 or 2 it must install ck3pro usb drivers and serial or usb to ck3pro to can dump the original fw from a liteon 74850c?

A lot of thanks.

Even without x360usb pro kit?

If i connect the ck3pro with the 74850c power(With no serial or usb) and the sata with my motherboard or pci via6421 sata card and i do the new method with probe3 it would dum the original fw correct?

Are you sure?

Re: Liteon DG-16D2S 74850C - Step-By-Step Guide (Probe 3 Method)

Returning to my original question.... I am following the instructions exactly for my 7xxx which is LT modded. I have already done an 8xxxx that had been previously modded using the same instructions. I have the 360usb and the new ck3 proble. I probe mpx01 (with switch engaged to stop power), release switch, remove probe, engage and release switch again at which point I get a dialog saying key failed verification. I wonder if anyone knows the logic in jungleflasher code that throws this dialog up ???

Man you're gonna have to fiddle with that a little bit. This method is unstable - it can extract twice and then fail three times. I sometimes get extraction complete and then after the 5 seconds thing I press OK and boom JF says Phatkey failed.

It doesn't matter. Just count to five anyway you like...

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, I tested on my 8 series liteon on last night and had no issues, but again I COULD be wrong.

You can actually use the 360 to power drive, meaning have the probe power connect to the board of the 360 and the drive for power and then have the sata connected to via card in computer.

1. Connect and verify drive shows
2. Click PhatKey, click ok
3. Hold button (no led)
4. probe MPX01, and release button (led on)
5. check for 0x52, and remove probe
6. Extract Complete should pop up
7. hold button on probe (no led) for 5 seconds, and then release (to power cycle drive)
8. Click OK
9. Should get key no issues!

That worked for me no issues, and I didn't have a usb pro or a external power source. I'm doing two more liteons today which will not be used for live. It worked for me last night, but please let me know if I can't use 360 to power on drive.

Thank You for your help!

You can but I would advise against it as it will be logged that your drive is not connected to the xbox when it has been turned on. I think you should invest in a ck3
