load dummy.bin as source, JF will want to autoload, say no. load 0251c LT1.91 as target. then "spoof to target"

click on liteon erase, follow instructions then once in vendor mode click "write". then click outro when done

brett1 - did u update your dash to the latest one before flashing the drive??
doesn't look like it - return the drive to stock 74850 fw - connect it to your xbox - update it, then reflash with 0251 1.91

I have to assume that at least one reason for putting the drive back to stock would be so you can update the dashboard to the latest version correct? If I have the modded firmware then I have to assume trying to upgrade to the new dashboard will break something?

Powering off the drive with the CK3 Pro Power switch does not work. It fails every time but if I use the switch in the Probe 3 cable to turn off and on it works 100% of the time. I know the tutorial does make a note of that but shouldn't the tutorial be updated to remove the statement about powering off the drive from the CK3 Pro or whatever board is being used to power up the drive. Maybe this works for others but 100% of the time it does not work this way for me. I have the exact setup as pictured in the tutorial.

Second question. I tried to put back the Stock Firmware for the 74850C. I think I am doing something wrong. In the source field do I put the dummy.bin and in the target field the Stock.bin? Then proceed to erase and write?

With the CK3 Pro back in November I did save the dummy.bin and a bunch of other files where saved along with that dummy.bin such as a key file etc etc.

I am still searching for a short tutorial on putting the drive back to stock with the new X360USB Pro. I know there is a section in the main manual about this but for CK3 Pro not the USB one.

Thanks

answer to Q1 ..i power off with ck3 no probs
Q 2 need to manual spoof the key,,rest is correct

back to stock is pretty much the same as standard flashing except you put the stock file as target and manually spoof the key

@talby71,

Thanks for the reply. The old method with the CK3 Pro saved 5 files Dummy.bin, Identify.bin, Inquiry.bin, Key.bin, Serial.bin and a file I believe I saved which is the same size as the Dummy.bin 256 kilobytes, 0800_lite_CFW.bin. I don't know if I labelled it that way or the software did?

The new method just saved the Dummy.bin which is all the individual bin files saved as they were before before the x360 USB Pro came out, correct?

There is no way we can save our original STOCK firmware with either CK3 Pro or the X360USB Pro?

Can the Drive Key ever change? For example if Microsoft decides to update new firmware again, as they already have for the Liteon drives, could this in theory also change the key to the drive? I ask that because if so then I suppose I would need to create a new dummy file after the xbox 360 update. This was not the case however for 0251 firmware update unless the other files changed such as the Identify, serial, inquiry etc files?

I am looking into what I am doing wrong maybe its my technique or timing when powering the drive off then on with the CK3 Pro. I am using the Probe 2 with the wire conversion to Probe 3. I am not sure if this could be why? Also the mode on the CK3, not sure if the LED should be Blue or Red?

Thanks
