Hi
I am struggling to extract the DVD key and dump the firmware of my liteon DG-16D2S drive
I have used the "Liteon DG-16D2S 02510C (NEW VERSION) - Step-By-Step Guide (CK3 Probe 3 for DVD Key)" as a guide to get the dumps from my drive, although I am not using a USB pro and I cannot seem to get beyond "Extract Complete! To continue, you must: Ensure probe is removed...Power Off Drive...Wait 5 seconds...Power On...then press OK."
Whether I wait 5 seconds, 55 or 0!!

Any advice as to how I may be able to complete this, given the current items at my disposal, would be much appreciated

I have read similar threads and where possible attempted the solutions provided, but point me in the direction should you feel this necessary (I have searched and read as many threads as possible)

- If I have to fork out the cash for the other parts then so be it I guess. . . . . .

I am using - Win7 64 (digital singing disabled on start-up)
Jungleflasher 0.1.92b"run as administrator"
Ck3 probe v3
Probe and drive hooked up and powered via ck3 blaster & VIA VT6421 RAID controller

Within Jungleflasher the com port is at status ready (Prolific USB to Serial) etc as per ubergeek guide

Also the jf log is as follows:

I believe that this may be the way to go.

Had hoped that prior to going for a usbpro and ck3 pro\lite that I would be able to use my existing kit for what I would hope to be a one time use

Hi, I remove the probe then press and hold the button for any number of seconds, but am greeted with extraction failed.
Do you think I should be doing something different?

I have never had any problems flashing ANY Liteon DG-16D2S 02510C Drive, i always use (yes u may mock me) a screwdriver with wire taped around it which the wire then gets taped to the Xbox chassis lol, then i use a switch that i wired into the ''DVD Power Cable''.

I click ''PhatKey'' in jungleflahser (304) then press ''OK'' the flick off the switch (usually within 5 seconds) then probe the point marked ''MPX01'' with the aforementioned ghetto probe, flick the switch back on then wait upto 10 seconds for the ok, after that you should remove the probe then switch the switch off WAIT 5 SECONDS!!! then back on then it will be done.

Iv even shown somebody how to flash one over TeamVeiwer.

When you get the message Lift the probe, power of with the probe button for a few sec and when you have powered on you can click ok on the message. If that doesnt work, the problem is probably with your sata chip.

Dont use a screwdriver..that would be just asking for trouble..especially since you have the correct probe..hope he is not using that on other peoples drives

Badman - if you have a video\photo of the setup and the process I would be interested in seeing this - though agree with talby71 in that I seem to have the right tools for the job and jf appears to recognise everything, its now a case what could I have missed or done wrong rather than spend an additional £50 for a usbpro

@Spoonfeet I will next take snaps of my next DG-16D2S flash procedure.... And obviously, if you have a CK3 Probe or w,e then yh use it but just basically explaining how easy a DG-16D2S is to flash with the most ghettos'ist of tools.

So - a quick update. . . .
No joy on the drive key extract \ firmware dump front, tried numerous different timings for the power cycle etc but to no avail, looks like its time to go for the usbpro.

Thanks for all of your advice

You should be able to do it without the USB pro if JF is able to detect and send commands to the drive.
This quote is directly from the PMT guide:
In the following example – I use the X360USB Pro for my SATA connection
– This is NOT a pre-requisite –
If you have a currently working SATA setup – it will work just as well
You could always try a sata port on your motherboard instead of the PCI card too.
But basically:
1. Make sure 3.3V switch is on
2. Make sure your drive is detected as a Lite On in JF
3. Hit Phat Key
4. Hit Yes
5. Switch the 3.3V switch off
6. Probe mpx01
7. Switch 3.3v on while still holding probe to mpx01

8. Watch for status 0x52 ----Now it seems like you got this far already so the next part is crucial. I was having the same problem due to the way I did this next part.

9. As soon as you see 0x52 take the probe off, but keep the switch on.
10. Wait for the pop up message to appear that says Extract Complete! DONT HIT OK YET!
11. Now, and only now switch the 3.3v off. Still don't hit ok, leave the message up!
12. Wait 5 seconds
13. Switch the 3.3v switch on.
14. Now you can hit ok on the message.

If you hit ok on the pop up too early it won't work!

If your doing all this and still having problems try a new sata port and/or a new sata cable. Your motherboard's native ports may work.
