Hi all
Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction, my drive seemed to die the other day with the Open Tray error.
From searching YouTube I found various videos and tried cleaning the lense and greasing the poles the laser moves along all to no avail.
I have now purchased a new laser, removed the solder blob and connected it to the original drive but I am still experiencing the Open Tray issue.
The new laser moves however it doesn't seem to blink red like the old one did, connecting my old one again doesn't blink red any more (I was convinced even when not working it blinked red). Could this mean I have knackered the data ribbon cable? Just in case I have ordered one today as they were only cheap.
The CD momentarily spins but then does nothing else, I am purchasing a digital multimeter tonight to try and pot tweak the old laser but I am worried I might have damaged something else as I am not seeing a blinking red light any more.
Any ideas?
Below is the laser I brought.
Anything else I need to buy to replace it? Or is it a completely new drive I need? Which would involve flashing etc?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Microso...1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387460638&sr=8-1&keywords=g2r2
Just to clarify it is a XBox 360 Slim 240GB (Black)
Any help appreciated
